I designed a wide variety of Superman costumes. The only constant
was the omission of the red cape. I feel the cape reflects Superman's
past and serves no useful purpose. To move forward his suit should be
utilitarian. Superman possesses extraordinary abilities. He doesn't
need armor or utility belts. The most he would need is a force field
to protect him from kryptonite or Wonder Woman's sword.
